WELCOME TO OUR SITESome lnsight Into The Microbial Phenomenon Microbes mediate and complete the cycles of Nature, e.g. the Carbon Cycle. Coperative existence and ecological interactions are characteristics of bacteria communities in the degradation and breakdown of substances to the ends points of their metabolism. There are many examples in microbiology of syntrophy, a situation where two or more different micro organisms cooperate to degrade a substance – and conserve energy doing it – that neither could degrade separately. Extremely important in anoxic (i.e. in the absence of free molecular oxygen) catabolism leading to the production of methane or CH4. Processes of Nature can be accelerated in a confined and suitably engineered environment. The more thorough the biological process used in wastewater treatment, the more effective and complete is the removal of pollutants, including the micro pollutants, In addition to solving tough pollutants problems, these processes improve the effluent quality to the point that it is adequate for many reuse purposes, and may convert what was originally a wastewater into a valuable resource too good to throw away. The way of the microbes is the way to true ZERO DISCHARGE. The full potential and benefits of using biological means to treat organic wastes like high-strength palm oil mill effluent (POME) are yet to be fully tapped. Useful side products (biogas and biosolids) can be produced whilst a highly-refined water can be recovered without the use of any chemicals and expensive consumables. The outfitting of the front-end methanation plant of a wide-spectrum biological system is of paramount importance because the production of an effluent that is amenable to the treatment downstream is contingent on the efficient digestion of the organic content of the waste, of which the optimized production of CH4 is its end point. A most profitable symbiotic relationship between men and microbes through a human-machine-bacteria interface con be established. Food for the microbes and goods and services for men - prerequisites f or their evolutionary success!
